Project at a glance

Problem

The 220LBS fitness project needed an app that would let trainees work out on their own, track their results and get support from a trainer. The app also had to help them stay interested in training. It had to be easy for users to get started and find their way around the interface. At the same time, the app needed room to grow with future courses and formats.

What we did
  • Workout programs with exercise descriptions and videos
  • Sets and reps settings
  • Weight entry and quick mode switching
  • Exercise results history by date
What the client wanted
  • Give trainees a tool for working out on their own
  • Make progress visible
  • Keep trainees engaged in their workouts

Workout program and exercise technique

The app brings together workout programs with exercise descriptions and video demonstrations. Trainees can watch the correct technique and check the prescribed number of sets and reps.

On the exercise screen, users can enter weight and reps, use the rest block and switch modes quickly. The same screen shows results history by date, so past records are at hand during a workout.

Progress and trainer support

The home screen combines workout days, the session card, stats and the leaderboard. From here, users go to their body measurements or to the chat with their trainer.

Stats, exercise history and measurements help users track their own progress. The chat keeps them in touch with the trainer between solo workouts.

A leaderboard to keep trainees engaged

To keep trainees interested, we added an athlete leaderboard. Users pick a category and a period and see the top three and a list of participants with their points and levels.

The user’s own profile is highlighted in color, so users can easily find it and see where they stand among the other participants.
