Project at a glance

Problem

Valta Belarus needed an online store for pet food and pet supplies on 1C-Bitrix (CMS). Shoppers had to be able to browse the range, place orders and come back to their purchases from a computer or a phone. The store had to serve individuals, breeders and businesses. For breeders and companies, we had to design document verification and the switch to wholesale prices, while keeping the option to order at retail prices until the check is complete.

What we did
  • Responsive home page, catalog and product page
  • Product sorting in the catalog
  • Gallery and reviews on the product page
  • Cart and favorites
What the client wanted
  • Give shoppers access to the range from a computer and a phone
  • Connect choosing products with placing and viewing orders
  • Cover the purchase terms for individuals, breeders and companies

A storefront for desktop and mobile

We developed a responsive home page, catalog and product page. The home page features the catalog, promotions, brands and ad banners that link to products.

On desktop, search, profile, favorites and cart are in the header. On a phone, the main sections are in a bottom bar, so shoppers can get to the cart or catalog from any of the pages shown.

Choosing products on a small screen

In the desktop catalog, categories and filters sit to the left of the products. On a phone, filters open with a separate button, and product cards are laid out in two columns. Price, rating and the buy button are visible right in the list; a “Few left” label draws attention to limited stock.

The product page is rearranged to fit the screen. On desktop, the name is above the gallery and the purchase block is on the right. On a phone, a large photo comes first, then the name and rating. On the desktop product page, delivery and pickup details sit next to the price.

Terms for breeders and companies

We designed how buyer details and document verification status are displayed. The flow covers three categories: individuals, breeders and businesses.

Until the account is confirmed, customers can order at retail prices. We prepared notes explaining these terms for the catalog, product page, cart and checkout. In the flow for switching to wholesale prices, the new terms apply only to new orders.

Cart and past orders

The store is built on 1C-Bitrix with a custom template. We implemented the backend for the cart and favorites and integrated checkout, purchase history and the single-order page.

Shoppers can save products and return to past orders. For the history, we designed how statuses are shown; for the order page, the items, recipient details, delivery method and cost.
